The only official national news agency in Niger is called Agence Nigérienne de Presse (Nigerien Press Agency - ANP). It issues press releases on matters of security, economy, politics, agriculture, health and sports and culture. There are no independent news agencies. The following foreign news agencies have correspondents in the country: RFI, VOA, Deutsche Welle, BBC. Agencies such as Anadolu Agency (Turkey), APA News (African press agency), and Niamey e les 2 jours a news agency belonging to AgenceEcofin, an international economic medium based in Switzerland, also have correspondents in Niger who collect news and facts for their agencies.
