Farian Sabahi
is a historian specialised on Iran in the XX century. She wrote her PhD on the Literacy Corps in Pahlavi Iran (School of Oriental and African Studies, London 1999). She currently teaches International Relations of the Middle East at the University of Valle d’Aosta and a course on Contemporary Iran at the University of Geneva. She is also lecturer in religion and politics at the John Cabot University
As a professional journalist, Farian worked as Middle Eastern special correspondent for Radio Svizzera (1997-2016). She is a freelance for Il Corriere della Sera and il manifesto, and is a contributor of the Italian television RaiNews24. Amongst her books on Iran: Il bazar e la moschea. Storia dell’Iran 1890-2018, Noi donne di Teheran, Il mio esilio: Shirin Ebadi con Farian Sabahi, Un’estate a Teheran. She holds Iranian and Italian citizenship.
