According to Roskomnadzor (the Federal Service for Supervision of Communications, Information Technology and Mass Media - RKN), as of December 31, 2016 the Register of Mass Media comprised 80,606 media outlets, of which 55,378 were print media, 23,676 electronic media and 1,552 news agencies.
