Stylianos Papathanassopoulos
is Professor at the Department of Communication and Media Studies at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. He has written extensively on media developments in Europe and especially on television issues in various journals
He also edits the Greek communication journal Zitimata Epikoinonias/Communication Issues. He is the author or editor of 19 books about the media. Among his most recent books: (with Ralph Negrine) European Media, Structures, Policy & Identity (Polity, 2011), Media perspectives (editor, Routledge, 2011), Television in the 21st century (Kastaniotis, 2005 in Greek); European Television in the Digital Age; Issues, Dynamics and Realties (Polity Press, 2002)
