Rasha Allam
assistant professor and associate chair at the Department Journalism and Mass Communication, she is a graduate of the Department of Journalism and Mass Communication (BA-2002, MA-2005), School of Global Affairs and Public Policy at The American University in Cairo. She is an Honorary Alumni of the Annenberg school for Communication, University of Pennsylvania and a graduate of the Oxford University program of Media Laws and Regulations. Her Doctorate, in Business Administration (DBA), is from Maastricht School of Management (2011) with specialization in Media Management.
Rasha Allam has a range of experience in teaching , she has been working as an affiliate professor with the Department of Journalism and Mass Communication since 2005 and teaching record with MSA university until 2014. Allam’s research interests include Egyptian and Arab media management systems, Arab broadcast media laws and regulations, media monitoring, media and elections, freedom of speech and of the press in the Middle East.
For years, Rasha Allam has a weekly column at Al Masry Al Youm, one of the leading independent newspapers in Egypt where she introduced the Twitter debate, Engaging with your Readers on Twitter. In addition she contributed to other newspapers such as AlWatan as well as other Radio and Television news and talk programs.
