Carlos Arcila Calderón
is an Assistant Professor at the University of Salamanca (Spain). Editor of the scientific Journal Disertaciones and member of the Observatorio de los Contenidos Audiovisuales (OCA). PhD in Communication by Universidad Complutense de Madrid. Master in Data Science and Master in Journalism, both by Universidad Rey Juan Carlos (URJC).
He has taught media and journalism at the Universidad del Rosario (Colombia), Universidad del Norte (Colombia), Universidad de Los Andes (ULA) (Venezuela), and has been a researcher at URJC and the Universidad Católica Andrés Bello (UCAB) (Venezuela). He has published more than 50 peer-review papers, 9 books and 15 book chapters, and participated in more than 15 competitive research projects. His research interests are focused on media and journalism studies, social media analysis, computational methods and ICT adoption. He initially worked as a journalist in Spain and Venezuela for 10 years.
