Nelson Daniel Rodríguez Navarrete
is a journalist with 19 years of experience in online media and community radio networks. After graduating at the Universidad Centroamericana (UCA) with a Master's Degree in Communication and Journalism, he was correspondent of the Asociación Latinoamericana de Comunicación y Educación Popular (Latin American Association of Communication and Popular Education - ALER) from 1997 to 2009. In 1996 he started working at Radio Universidad, initially as a reporter then as Press Chief.
He has also taught journalism at UCA and at the University of Commercial Sciences (UCC) for five years. Subsequently he has been an instructor of the Local Radio Network of the UCA, facilitating workshops for popular communicators of community radios. As of 2019, he is correspondent of the organisation Voces Nuestras of Costa Rica.
Nelson won the Pedro Joaquín Chamorro Award for Excellence in Journalism, First Place, Radio Genre 2005-2006, organised by the Violeta Barrios Foundation and the United Nations Organisation, in Nicaragua. He has published more than 50 articles on women's rights.
